Turn on two-factor authentication

Steps

1. Open the user menu, choose Profile & settings, then Two-Factor Authentication.
2. It says Two-factor authentication is off. Type your password if your account has one, then press Enable two-factor authentication.
3. Scan the code with your authenticator app, or use Or enter this key manually.
4. Save the backup codes shown once. Each works once.
5. Type the 6-digit code from the app and press Verify & enable, then Done.
6. Later, you can press Regenerate backup codes for a fresh set, or Disable to turn it off.

What you will see

• The page changes to Two-factor authentication is on.

Common problems

"That code did not verify. Check the time on your authenticator app."

Make sure the phone's clock is set automatically, then enter a fresh code.

"Your role requires two-step verification. Set it up below to continue."

Platform staff accounts must use it. Complete the steps.
