Create a social post and save it as a draft

Write a caption, add photos from your appointments or upload them, pick channels, and save a draft, schedule it or submit it for approval.

Who can do this: Owner and manager roles can open Social Groomer. The owner or an admin can Schedule; anyone else with access uses Submit for approval.

Steps

  1. In Social Groomer press New and choose Post, or press Create a post on Home.
  2. Under Channels, tick where it should go. Only channels you have connected appear; without any you can still save a draft.
  3. Write the Caption (up to 2200 characters). Write caption fills in a template; replace [booking link] with your booking link first, or take it out.
  4. Under Photos, drop or Add up to 4 photos (PNG, JPEG or WebP, 10 MB each), or choose Choose from before and after photos to use pictures taken at appointments.
  5. Set When. The time is on your shop's clock, not your browser's.
  6. Press Save draft, or Schedule (owner or admin), or Submit for approval.
  7. To publish: open Publish (tabs Queue, Drafts, Approvals, Sent). An owner or admin sets a Post time and presses Approve in Approvals, or Send back with a note. On a post, Publish now sends it at once; Retry re-tries only a failed channel.

What you will see

  • A Preview on the right shows how it looks on each channel you ticked.
  • The window closes and the post appears under Publish. Drafts waits in the Drafts tab.

Common problems

"Replace [booking link] in the caption with your booking link (or take it out) first."
Scheduling and approval are blocked while the placeholder is in the caption.
"Add a photo to post." or "Pick at least one channel."
Scheduling and submitting need a caption, a photo and a channel. A draft only needs a caption or a photo.
"Pick a time in the future."
The time must be at least a minute ahead.
"This photo is not marked shareable."
Photos from appointments reach Social only when ticked Fit to share in the photo viewer (new photos start ticked). Tick Don't use this pet's photos on social on a pet record to keep a pet out entirely.
"Approve the post before publishing it."
Open the draft, press Approve, then publish or schedule. Editing an approved post sends it back to draft.
"Video posting is coming soon. Pick a photo."
Video posts are not available yet. Use photos.
"Only the owner or an admin can schedule. Submit it for approval instead."
Use Submit for approval.
