Connect a social channel
Link a social account once from the Social Groomer area so you can post to it.
Who can do this: The owner or an admin. Only the owner and managers can open Social Groomer at all.
Steps
- Open Social Groomer from the app menu. The first time, the owner or an admin sees a short setup walkthrough with Back, Next, Skip and Done; its last step is Connect a channel.
- Press New and choose Connect a channel, or press Connect channel in the left column.
- In the window titled Connect a channel, find the account's tile and press Connect (Reconnect if it already shows Needs reconnecting).
- Your browser goes to that platform. Sign in, choose the Page, profile or channel to share, and allow access.
- You return to the page you were on with the window reopened, showing "<Channel> connected."
What you will see
- The tile shows Connected, and the channel appears as an avatar in the left column. A red dot means it needs reconnecting.
- To remove one, press Disconnect, then Yes, disconnect (Keep it backs out). Settings > Channels shows the same tiles, and a Send test button per connected account.
Common problems
- A tile says "Not set up yet" and Connect is greyed out.
- That platform is not configured for this deployment of the app. Nothing you can change in your shop.
- A tile says "Coming soon".
- Text messages, LinkedIn and Shop mailbox are not available yet.
- "No Facebook Page was shared. Connect again and choose a Page."
- On the platform's consent screen, tick the Page you manage. Instagram needs an Instagram professional account linked to a Facebook Page.
- "<name> is already connected to another shop."
- An account can be linked to one shop at a time.
- "That connect link has expired or is not yours. Start the connect again."
- The connect link lasts 10 minutes and belongs to the person who started it. Press Connect again.
- "Only the owner or an admin can connect channels."
- Ask the owner or an admin.
Good to know
- Whether scheduled posts go out by themselves at their time depends on the server's publishing job being switched on, which this help center cannot confirm. Publish now works regardless.
- Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads connections depend on Meta approving the app. That review was still pending when this article was written, so an ordinary shop may be unable to connect them yet.
- TikTok posts stay private until TikTok approves the app. Google Business shows "Waiting on Google access" and does not post yet.
