Add a pet, groom notes and photos

Steps

1. Open Pets and search by pet or owner name. Click a pet to open its record. To add a pet to a household use Add pet on the client page.
2. Profile tab: click any value or its pencil to edit Name, Species, Breed, Weight, Sex, Colour, Coat type, Coat length, Birthday and Gotcha day. Size is worked out from the weight.
3. Behaviour: add tags such as Easy, Friendly, Nervous, Biter or Doesn't like dryer, or type your own in Add a tag.
4. Health tab: add vaccines (see the vaccine article), Vet name and Vet phone, and Allergies, conditions, medication under Health notes.
5. Groom notes tab: under Add a groom note enter the Blade, Clip, Style and Notes. Tick Carry forward to make it the instructions for next time, then press Save note. Only one note per pet carries forward; Stop carrying forward clears it.
6. Photo: click the round picture at the top to add or replace it (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 15 MB). Remove photo takes it off.
7. History tab: lists past appointments with price and status. Press Add on an appointment to attach before and after photos or short videos (up to 100 MB and 60 seconds).
8. Status: Mark as passed away keeps every record and stops booking. Mark as active undoes it.

What you will see

• The header shows "Next time, ask:" built from the last groom and the carried-forward note, and a Book appointment button.
• The Pets list shows size, owner, last and next visit, vaccine status and behaviour tags.

Common problems

"Give the weight in pounds, above zero."

Enter a weight greater than zero.

"Write the blade, clip, style or a note."

A groom note needs at least one of those.

"A birthday cannot be in the future."

Correct the date.

"<file> is over the 15MB photo limit."

Use a smaller photo.

Book appointment is disabled.

"A pet marked as passed away cannot be booked."

Good to know

• Size classes come from Business settings > Business profile (owner only), where you set the upper weight limit for each size.
